Last Thursday, January 12th , the Jazz concert of the North American musician Rulon Brown and the students and teachers of the music school took place in the foundation Casa de los Tres Mundos.
This concert was the result of an intensive, four-day workshop which was offered by Brown in order to acquaint students and teachers by means of the improvisation with the musical style Jazz and to intensify their skills in this area.
Last Sunday evening (18th of December) the foundation “Casa de los Tres Mundos” gave a great concert in order to celebrate the conclusion of the academic year of the music school. The audience enjoyed the various program, which contained everything from Johann Strauss via José de la Cruz Mena through to traditional Christmas songs.
For three days the „Casa de los Tres Mundos“ was scene of the ambulatory documentary- film- festival „FESTIVAL AMBULANTE..GIRA DE DOCUMENTALES 2011“, which was organised by the Spanish „Centro Cultural“ in Nicaragua and our institution.
The topics of these discerning movies ranged from the life of a boxer and her struggle being the best in the world, via drug trafficking and its influence on the economic and cultural development of Colombia until the stokes of a juvenile who was condemned to prison being innocent.
The “1st French Filmfestival” of Granada was opened successfully with the film “TANGUY”
TUNGUY is a French comedy of Etienne Chatiliez. It is about the story of a young man and his parents, who do not want to accept it anymore that their 28 years old son is still living in their house and therefor they decide to make his life at home a living hell.
The drama group ‘ FILCOM’, of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma of Nicaragua (UNAN) acted last Friday, November 4th, in the auditorium of the Casa de los Tres Mundos.
The Casa de los Tres Mundos and the “Calaca Press” opened last Wednesday, 2nd November, the exhibition “LA CALACA PRESS INTERNATIONAL PRINT EXCHANGE”, an exhibition of artists from all over the world, who met in order to celebrate the “Día de los Muertos”.
Among others there are participating artists from Argentinia, Austria, Colombia, Australia, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Italy, Mexico and Nicaragua.
The Casa de los Tres Mundos opened last Friday (October 21) the exhibition “CODICES MAYA Y ECOPAPEL” of the artist Tony Peralta.The exhibition shows pictures with thoroughly elaborated Maya Codices on Eco-paper – the recycled paper is with its own texture and the thereon painted gaudy and unique colours and shapes like a homage to the culture of the Maya.
