Screening of the movie “Palabras Mágicas… para romper un encantamiento”

Last Tuesday (July 17th) the Granada- premiere of the movie “Palabras mágicas…Para romper un encantamiento” of the Nicaraguan film maker Mercedes Moncada, who is living in Mexico since 1994, took place.

It is a very personal perspective on the Sandinista People´s Revolution. An analysis about its development: Its beginnings, the triumph and the happenings after “day 0”.

The film tells (according to the directress) of the distortion of the Nicaraguan revolution right up to its transformation into a “dictatorship”, led by the ruling family and the support of the  Left wing governments of Latin America.

“That is my point of view, how I experienced and felt it”, said Mercedes Moncada during the conversation, which took place subsequent to the screening.  “I made this movie so that we analyze the things, so that we do not forget, what happened and so that every one of us can draw their own conclusions on this subject”, she emphasized.

This film was presented in the cinemas of Managua and in the auditorium of the foundation Casa de los Tres Mundos and has been a great success.
