From July 2006, a new phase began in the workshop, as it was reorganized and the room layout was changed. The premises which had been shared until then by the gravure and the painting workshop were divided into two separate spaces. From this moment on, the gravure workshop began to organize courses accessible for everyone in different techniques like metal gravure, lithography, carborundum printmaking, linoleum printing, xylography, experimental techniques and more.
Moreover it began to open itself more to the public in general and especially to talented young people. Ten art students from Granada were selected who obtained a scholarship of the Foundation Casa de los Tres Mundos.
In this transition period, the artist and teacher Carolina Florez M. was named new responsible person. She gave four gravure workshops for the students in 2007: copper engraving (etching and soft-ground etching), xylography and carborundum printmaking
In august 2007, the students show the fruits of their work in their first exposition “Nueva Faceta Gráfica”. Amongst others participated Balbino Ubau, Sayly Aráuz, Luz Marina Reyes, Claudia Guerrero, Wilson Argüello, Kevin Jarquín, Laura Querol (Spain), Hamilton Reyes and Derek Olaya (Panama). These young people from Granada are the first generation of gravure artists who benefit from that moment on of free and permanently offered courses for students.
In october and november 2007, Alicia Zamora gives a workshop in modern gravure techniques to 15 participants from Granada and Managua. The artworks are presented in the “Festival de Artes Visuales Fusión” in the Casa de los Tres Mundos. Besides, the graphics workshop presented the first xylography mural in Granada. It was made with a compressed air hammer and measures more than 100 x 90 cm. You can find it opposite to the atrium of the cathedral.
