La Selva es Nuestra – a complete success

For the third time the play „LA SELVA ES NUESTRA“ , an adaption of the play “La Selva Silba” from Leslie Garrett, a famous author of plays for children, was performed in the foundation Casa de los Tres Mundos.

“La Selva es Nuestra” is an appeal to fight, but also to hope, so that we not continue destroying Mother Earth, the nature and her resources, but rather that we defend and protect it. A request to protect our „Paradises on Earth” like for example Indio Maíz, Bodawás, the peninsula Zapatera, the volcano Mombacho as well as the  animals, the birds, the game, the raccoon, the umbrellabird and the other critically endangered species. We have to stop the illegal deforestation.

„God gave us the earth and the nature for protecting it”, said Pepe, the director of the acting school of the Casa de los Tres Mundos. “We consider it as important to contribute something so that new approaches and methods can be born in order to live in harmony with Mother Earth, the nature and its creatures, including our human species.”

The directress, teacher and actress Alicia Pilarte expressed herself as follows: “It is a really good play for children and teenagers. It is educating and informative, I think they should act it in public schools as well as in private schools”. She praised the performance of the young actors, their depiction of the animals as well as the scenery.

The young actor Carlos Luis Mejía, an ex-student of the theatre school, said: “For me it seems opportune to bring up this subject, which is of such a topicality. The theatre, with its form of verbal and mimic expression, the images, are good because they are containing all artistic elements to raise awareness and to give the kids an understanding of the love of nature.”

Pepe told us, that they are going to participate with this play „La Selva es Nuestra“ in April this year in the Interantional Theatre Festival in Honduras among other groups from Centralamerica, Mexico and other countries
