In April the members of „Música en los Barrios“ eagerly expected a very special event. The IX Semana Clásica was just around the corner. This week was dedicated solely to classical music and took the hearer every night to the versatile manifestations of the classic. Majestically a march was stroke up by the brass ensemble while the violins lamented in the romantic orchestra composition of Johann Strauß and playful melodies on the piano brought Mozart to life. The classical week did come up with something for every taste.
Recorders filled the big hall with their smooth sounds as the „Música en los Barrios“ orchestra participated too. The young members not only got the opportunity to introduce themselves but also to play next to the National Orchestra and other professional formations. The recorders ensemble played their current repertoire with flying colours. They performed classical pieces for treble recorder from Telemann and Debussy but surprised everybody with a brisk Tango as well. The fingers bounced on the holes with the typical Tango rhythm to an adaption of „For Elise“ and ended with a vigorous exclamation: „Tango p’Elisa: Olé!“
The audience including several parents applauded boisterously.
