What a sight on April 6, 2017 in the Casa de los Tres Mundos! Students from all over Central America came together to celebrate the FICCUA 2017: the Festival Interuniversitario de Cultura y Arte.
For the tenth time, the universities of Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic organized themselves to celebrate the mentioned artistic event – this year in Nicaragua. For five days the country became the “capital of culture and art of Central America”, and in addition to the locations of Managua and León, last Thursday the path of the young artists led them to the city of Granada. People who came from near and far could enjoy various shows and performances in several places. The main categories of the festival focused on: literature, dance, theater, music and visual arts.
The idea behind this event, which takes place every two years, is to promote the international and cultural exchange among young people of different nationalities. This year’s motto was: Una sola tierra, en un pedazo de cielo. In this sense, they aspire to emphasize the traditions and the identity of each country. And last but not least, to pay attention to the cultural treasures that these parts of our world have to offer.
