Urban dialogue: The atrium and the roadside ditch in Granada

4 October, 2011aileenderry757

The CASA DE LOS TRES MUNDOS and the Nicaraguan association “International council for monuments and squares” (ICOMOS- Nicaragua) presented on September 8th the photography exhibition “Diálogo Urbano: El Pretil y la Cuneta en Granada”.

This exhibition tried to be thought-provoking for the viewer in order to make them stop the damnification of the local and urban design of Granada which was declared cultural heritage of Nicaragua. The slightly heed of the urban supervision affects the historic centre of this beautiful city.

The exhibition was accompanied by a conference which was staged by the members of ICOMOS: Arq. Mario Molina, Lic. Asunción Cuadra, Arq. Maira R. Vargas and Lic. Luis Argüello…

The conference was headed by young students in order to raise awareness for the difficulty of the new buildings which are affecting the originality of the colonial buildings of Granada.

Initiator of the photography exhibition is Luis Argüello, licentiate for management, economist, university lecturer and passionate photographer.
