The School of Scenic Arts is an initiative of professional artists – especially in dance and theatre – who are engaged in qualification, investigation and promotion of theatre and dance on national level, with the goal to gain presence in the national scene.Founded in June 2007 a first regular course is started with duration of three years. Apart from that an annual program with activities focused on the organization and formation of young scenic artists is initiated. It gives the possibility to participate in plans, programs and projects of the social-cultural sector.
The school made it its task to be a centre of exchange for national and international artist and creators, contribute to the professional formation of young students in the disciplines of dance and theatre, create an experimental program of investigation, exchange and learning on the local and universal scenic event, contribute to disperse the culture and art, complement the local touristic offer and amplify the participation of young citizens in the strategies of development which raise their quality of life.
Our mission is to qualify groups of artistic and cultural action, increase the number of groups and associations of adolescents and the civil society and promote and divulge actions with benefit of the local development.
Every year the participants take part in the setting up of a theatre play or a dancing event. Finishing the course of three years they receive a certificate of graduation from the Instituto Nicaragüense de Cultura (Cultural Institute of Nicaragua) and the Ministerio de Educación (Department of Education).
We invite all adolescents to register for the regular courses and the workshops which impart the School of Scenic Arts and include: dancing classes, vocal techniques, corporal and playing expression.
